Original vintage travel poster promoting The Airline Route to Europe only 3 to 4 days open ocean Canadian Pacific featuring a striking Art Deco design depicting the Empress of Britain ocean liner sailing at sea on stylised waves with a pioneer-era propeller plane flying above in front of a shipping route map over the North Atlantic Ocean marking New York Montreal Quebec to Liverpool London Southampton Cherbourg with the title in bold lettering and below. Launched in 1930 the RMS Empress of Britain steam turbine ocean liner provided luxury passenger services across the Atlantic between Canada and Europe from 1931 to 1939; during World War Two she became a troop transport ship until she was torpedoed by a German U-Boat and sunk in 1940. Good condition, restored tears, restored pinholes, restored creasing, staining, tape marks, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
