Original vintage sport travel poster for Les Sports d'Hiver St. Pierre de Chartreuse Piste de Bob de Perquelin / Winter Sports in St Pierre de Chartreuse featuring a stunning Art Deco design of a bobsled race by the notable French artist Roger Broders (1883-1953) depicting spectators watching a bobsleigh team racing down the Bob de Perquelin track with people skiing and walking on the mountains in the background, trees and a snow topped chalet in the distance with the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee PLM railway company logo above and bold text below. The St Pierre de Chartreuse ski resort is located in the Chartreuse massif in south-eastern France popular for downhill alpine skiing as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The Perquelin bobsleigh track was built for the 1924 Winter Olympic Games. Acceptable condition, colours faded, framed, not examined outside of the frame.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
