Original vintage advertising brochure unfolded into a poster for the transatlantic ship the S.S. Normandie featuring a colourful illustration showing a cutout cross section of the three funnelled cruise ship surrounded with images in black and white and in colour and information marked with blue anchors about the luxury liner including the Winter Garden, people relaxing on the decks, enjoying a theatre performance and eating in the first class dining room, a view of a grand staircase, a tourist class and luxe class cabin, the children's playroom and the Normandie sailing in front of the Eiffel Tower in the corner, the title reading "Luxe, bien-etre, beaute, rapidite, securite, Normandie navire de France - compagnie generale transatlantique" / Luxury, well-being, beauty, speed, security - Normandie ship of France. A French Line Compagnie Generale Transatlantique CGT ship, the SS Normandie's maiden voyage was on 29 May 1935 from Le Havre to New York via Southampton; she crossed the Atlantic in four days, three hours and fourteen minutes, breaking a new world record.
