Original vintage LMS poster for the London Midland and Scottish Railway Derby Staff Ball - The Eighth Annual Derby Staff Ball (to which all Ladies and Gentlemen of the Salaried Staff in the LMS Service are invited) will be held in the County Assembly Rooms Derby on Friday, February 13th 1931 President: Ernest Wharton Esq. Dancing 8pm to 3am - featuring colourful artwork depicting a smiling man in a black masquerade mask and cape behind a lady wearing a yellow dress decorated with flowers and holding her mask in her hand, sitting on a red chair, with balloons next to a red and black circle and a row of smaller illustrations of happy party goers dancing in fancy dress and clown costumes in the background, the bold stylised lettering above and below with ticket information. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
