Colourful illustration by Norman Howard (1899-1955) featuring an elegant young lady driver at the wheel of a green Austin Eighteen saloon car with a lady wearing a fur coat sitting on the back passenger seat and a man in uniform holding the door open for a gentleman wearing a bowler hat, the car waiting in front of a bank building with a columned entrance and people walking along the pavement, the stylised lettering and red Austin logo above. The Austin Motor Company Limited was an English manufacturer of motor vehicles founded in 1905 by Herbert Austin; the company merged with Morris Motors as part of the British Motor Corporation BMC in 1952, producing cars under the Austin marque until 1987. Produced from 1937-1939, the Austin 18 car model could carry five to seven passengers. Horizontal. Fair condition, water stains, spots, restored tears and folds, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
