Au Bon Marche Home Furnishings Art Deco Rene Vincent
Original vintage advertising poster for Le Bon Marche department store in Paris designed by the influential French Art Deco illustrator Rene Vincent (1879-1936) promoting the home furnishings department featuring a man in white with flowing sleeves and a white headscarf and holding a white cane, standing in a richly decorated room with patterned gold and black tapestries on the walls, curtains and draping tassels against the dark background, a large red vase filled with gold balls in the foreground and the stylised text in white lettering above and on the border below in gold and white translated in English as At Le Bon Marche reproduction of a 2.4x3.6m poster produced for Les Grands Magasins printed by Duval & Bedos 14 Avenue Felix Faure Paris. Founded in 1838 by Aristide Boubibat, Le Bon Marche was one of the first department stores in the world; it attracted success through its modern marketing techniques and the innovative 1869 building's elegant ironwork design by the architect Louis-Charles Boileau (1837-1914) and civil engineer Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923). Horizontal. Excellent condition, folded, very minor tears on paper edge.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
