Original vintage travel poster published by the Italian Tourism Board ENIT for Capri l'isola del Sole / Island of the Sun featuring a colourful view by Giuseppe Riccobaldi (1887-1976) of the cliffs and faraglioni rock formations rising from a calm blue ocean with the ruins of an ancient ruin visible (possibly the 27AD Roman Villa Jovis / Villa of Jupiter), and yellow wild flowers in the foreground, the title text in bold red and stylised lettering below. The popular tourist resort island of Capri is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula in the Gulf of Naples Italy. Very good condition, restored minor tears, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
