Original vintage map poster - The Daily Telegraph Picture Map of London - featuring a colourful mid-century pictorial map of landmark buildings, museums and galleries, historic places of interest, train stations, notable people, the main streets in the centre of town, universities and medical schools, gardens and parks spanning the area from Lord's Cricket Ground and London Zoo in Regent's Park in the north, Guy's Hospital and the Tower of London in the east, the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park in the west, and the Imperial War Museum and Westminster Abbey in the south including illustrations of Buckingham Palace, Nelson's Column, the Royal Festival Hall, St Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament with the bridges shown from Lambeth Bridge to Tower Bridge and boats on the River Thames and red tube carriages marking London Underground stations, all framed by images of London types and characters including Beefeaters and Royal Guards, a Pearly King and Queen dancing, an iconic red London bus, cyclists, school children in uniform, a flower seller, shoe cleaner, fireman, a child on roller skates, horse drawn carts, a milkman and a policeman with the title in a scroll above. Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity. 

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
