Original vintage London Transport travel poster - Why Home So Soon? - featuring a great design by the Belgian illustrator Marc Fernand Severin (1906-1987) depicting a busy restaurant scene with smartly dressed people in elegant dresses and suits at dining tables on the main floor and on a balcony above, the waiters in bowties and tails serving food and drink with outlines of the plates and glasses on the table cloths and images of luxury food on the walls between the arches, including a lobster, pineapple, strawberry, mushroom and wine in a basket, the London Underground roundel as a clock showing the time 9.30 above the title text question on the margin below. Printed by Waterlow and Sons Limited, London and Dunstable. Fair condition, restored folds, staining, creasing, browning, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
