Zoo Circus Black Panther USSR
Original vintage Soviet advertising poster for a Zoo Circus - зооцирк - showing a fantastic stylised image of an elegant black panther with its bright yellow eyes shining against the dark grey background, the title below in white letters and the logo of an acrobat reaching to a star above. In 1919 Lenin formed a state union for theatrical work, which included the circus industry; in 1957 the union of circuses - союзэгоцирк - was formed under the Ministry of Culture; this became the state Russian circus - Росгосцирк - in 1992 after the collapse of the USSR. Good condition, faint cracks and marks.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
