[ON RESERVE 21/3/17] Original vintage silkscreen poster issued by British Railways, Western Region to promote their Express Freight service - Send your goods by rail - Information from goods stations and depots. Fantastic image by the prolific railway poster artist, A N Wolstenholme, of a steam locomotive pulling the freight cars. Judging by the shape it appears to be 6959 Class or Modified Hall Class developed by Frederick Hawksworth on the basis of Charles Collett's earlier Hall Class. Horizontal. Bright colours. Good condition, repaired cracks and minor losses, tear on the right side of the poster, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
