Original vintage advertising poster for the Salzburger Festspiele / Salzburg Festival from 26 July to 30 August 1928 under the management of Max Reinhardt, Franz Schalk and Bruno Walter, featuring a great design depicting an outline of a castle in front of a theatre mask with a white and red flag for Austria as the castle entrance and in the background, the text above and in stylised lettering on a black banner below. The Salzburg Festival is an annual summer festival of music and drama held since 1920. Fair condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper losses, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
