Rothman Of Pall Mall Cigarette Tobacconist
Original vintage cigarette advertising poster for Rothman of Pall Mall the best-known tobacconist in the world. Great design featuring an historic style black and white graphic illustration of a busy street scene along Pall Mall in London dominated by the Duke of York Column in the foreground below swirling clouds in the sky with well dressed people walking, a soldier with his sword raised on horse, a dog running and horse drawn carriages driving between the buildings with church spires leading to hills in the distance, the image and stylised text below framed and set against a pale yellow background. Artwork by the British artist and graphic designer Eric George Fraser (1902-1983). One of the UK's largest tobacco companies, Rothmans was founded in 1890 by Louis Rothman (1869-1926); in 1900 he opened a shop on Pall Mall; Rothmans was acquired by British American Tobacco in 1999. Pall Mall is located in central London linking St James' Street with Trafalgar Square and is named after a 17th century ball game Pall-Mall. Good condition, fold marks and restored tears.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
