Original vintage advertising poster for the iconic London department store D.H. Evans located on Oxford Street featuring a great design of two elegantly dressed ladies in patterned coats with luxurious fur collars and cuffs in the foreground, both with short fashionable cropped 1960s hair styles; one wearing glasses and smoking using a cigarette holder and the other wearing leather driving gloves, leaning to the side with more shoppers around a classic car in the background, the company name on the side and campaign slogan with the store's weekly late night opening hours in stylised lettering above - Fashion-Wise Open till 7pm on Thursdays. Opened in 1879 by Dan Harries Evans, D.H. Evans grew to become a landmark of British retail for over a century; the company merged with Harrods in 1928 and opened its new flagship store that occupied a whole block on Oxford Street in 1937; it was eventually rebranded as House of Fraser in 2001 and closed in 2022. Horizontal. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, minor creasing, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
