Guinness For Strength Gilroy Girder
Original vintage Guinness advertising poster - Guinness for Strength - featuring an iconic design by the notable artist John Gilroy (John Thomas Young Gilroy; 1898-1985) depicting a smiling man who has finished his break leaving an empty glass and bottle of Guinness on the bench behind him, happily carrying a large metal girder on his head with one hand to balance it, walking away from another worker who is looking at him in shock as he holds his drink of Guinness and bottle with his lunch on a napkin beside him, set within a green and black border with the bold text below in red letters. One of the world's most popular beer drink brands, Guinness is an Irish dry stout founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. Very good condition, small restored tear, minor staining, backed on linen.

FAQs

Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
