Great design featuring a framed black and white photograph of an aerial view of London with an Imperial Airways biplane de Havilland DH.34 aircraft flying over Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames leading to bridges and a hazy horizon, the text above and below in stylised black letters. Croydon Aerodrome (1920-1959) was the main airport in London, replaced by Heathrow after the war. Imperial Airways (1924-1939) was an early British airline company that merged into BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation; now British Airways). Printed in England by H. Kettle, Printer, London. Fair condition, waving, creases, foxing and staining.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
