Original vintage travel advertising poster for Manchester International Airport - Fly Via MIA - featuring a great graphic design depicting the bold orange lettering and the airport logo on a brown background, the rest of the text in white below. The airport opened in 1938, initially named Ringway Airport after its location (Ringway village and parish); it was used as an RAF Royal Air Force base during WWII and named RAF Ringway; it later became the second busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow, and is now the third busiest, owned by the Manchester Airports Group. Very good condition, light creasing, pinholes.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
