Mac Fisheries Fish Prices Schleger
Original vintage food advertising poster for the Mac Fisheries by the notable graphic designer Zero (Hans Schleger; 1898-1976) featuring a fun and colourful drawing of a smiling fish holding a price label of 4 1/2 in its fins against a red background with the text "We always mark our prices" below in black and white letters. Mac Fisheries (1918-1979) was founded by William Hesketh Lever (1st Viscount Leverhulme; 1851-1925) of Unilever Brothers with his brother James Darcy Lever (1854-1916), incorporated into Lever Brothers Ltd in 1922 and later becoming part of Unilever (founded in 1930 as a merger between the Dutch producer Margarine Unie and the Lever Brothers). Hans Schleger pioneered the concept of corporate identity and worked on the brands and logos for John Lewis, Penguin Press and others; his work remains highly influential for designers. Good condition, minor tears and crease on margins.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
