Original vintage sport poster advertising The New York City Marathon on 4 November 1990 featuring runners wearing numbered bibs running over a bridge in Central Park watched by spectators clapping them on, the city buildings visible between autumnal orange and green trees in the background, the title across the image above and the date and race sponsor Mercedes Benz logo below with the slogan Engineered like no other car in the world. The men's winner was the Kenyan long-distance runner Douglas Wakiihuri (time 2:12:39), and the women's winner was the Polish long-distance runner Wanda Panfil (time 2:30:45). The first New York City Marathon was held in 1970. Horizontal. Very good condition, creasing, bumps on edges.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
