Original vintage advertising poster for Hamilton School, Wheeler, Providence RI. "Learning to read to learn for a lifetime, teaching children with learning differences." Design by the American illustrator and children's author, Chris Van Allsburg (b 1949), who won two Caldecott Medals for US picture book illustration, Jumanji (1981) and The Polar Express (1985), both of which he also wrote and were both later adapted as successful movies. The Hamilton School was founded in 1981 to serve children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and ADHD, as part of the Wheeler School, which was founded in 1846. The school is located in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Excellent condition.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
