Original vintage Soviet advertising poster promoting Cosmonautics Day on 12 April - the anniversary of the first manned space flight on 12 April 1961 by the pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin; 1934-1968), now commemorated by the United Nations as the International Day of Human Space Flight - featuring a colourful stylised design of a cosmonaut / astronaut in a space suit in shades of red on the dark blue space background with pink and blue shaded stars and planets behind him, the title on a red flag above. Good condition, creasing, tears, small paper loss in top left corner.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
