Original vintage musical advertising poster for The Survival of St. Joan Broadway A Medieval Rock Opera Anderson Theatre 66 Second Ave (at 4th St) by the American rock band Smoke Rise (Gary Ruffin, Hank Ruffin, Stan Ruffin, Randy Bugg; 1969-1972) based on an original concept play and libretto by the playwright and screenwriter James Lineberger and produced by Stephen Schwartz and Dave Blume. Colourful artwork featuring a psychedelic illustration by the notable American graphic designer David Byrd (b. 1941), depicting a skull and a head on a blue background divided by a cross with stars in a circle around the skull half and an image of Joan of Arc with flowing orange and yellow fiery hair above the stylised title lettering set withing a red frame border. Printed by Aircraft Litho and PTG. Excellent condition, signed in pen by David Edward Byrd, printed on card.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
