Original vintage advertising poster for an exhibition of work by Eduardo Paolozzi - As Is When a series of screen prints based on the life and writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein - held by Editions Alecto London in May 1965 featuring a surreal design in black and white depicting an illustration of a Mickey Mouse running with a revolver gun below an ancient Roman sculpture of Laocoon and His Sons being attacked by sea serpents set over a ring, line and cross pattern background. Sir Eduardo Luigi Paolozzi CBE RA (1924-2005) was a notable Scottish artist and one of the pioneers of Pop Art, who worked in various fields including sculpture, textiles, mosaics and graphic work. The 20th century philosopher Ludwig Josef Johann Wittgenstein (18898-1951) is considered to be one of the greatest philosophers of modern time. Good condition, creasing, staining, foxing, rough trimmed edges.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
