Uhu Line Fabric Ad Modernist Design

Sold

Original vintage advertising poster for Uhu-Line featuring a fun design by the notable Swiss Modernist graphic designer Theo Balmer (1902-1965) of a character standing on a tube of Uhu-Line, holding an unplugged electric iron in one hand with the other hand hidden under an oversized white shirt against a blue background, the text in German below reading: even one teaspoon works wonders on the laundry / schon 1 Teeloffel wirkt Wunder auf die Wasche. Developed in the 1950s by the German manufacturer of glues and adhesives, Uhu-Line was invented to keep fabric and collars stiff to make them practically as "new from the shop" after cleaning. Large size. Very good condition, folds, minor creasing on edge.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
