Original vintage travel poster - Suisse Chemin de Fer de la Wengernalp Petite Scheidegg 2061m Oberland Bernois / Switzerland Wengernalp Railway Kleine Scheidegg 2061m Bernese Oberland - featuring a scenic view by the Swiss painter Ernst Hodel (1881-1985) depicting red wild flowers below a tree in the countryside with cows grazing on the green grass slope by wooden buildings leading to the rocky snow topped mountains of the Swiss Alps below the blue sky background, the text above and below. Opened in 1893 the Wengernalp Railway line runs from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald via Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg. Printed by Paul Bender, Zollikon-Zurich. Very good condition, creasing, small tears, minor staining.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
