Johannes van Nelle opened the Van Nelle shop in 1782 selling tea, coffee and tobacco products; in 1845, it was sold to the Van der Leeuw family who founded plantations in Java Dutch West Indies; the company built an avant-garde constructivist style factory in Rotterdam in 1931, which ceased operations in 1996; the building was restored in 1998 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 (now offices with a restaurant, gym and event spaces). Horizontal. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, minor staining, tape on top corners.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
