Original vintage dance performance poster for the Gran Ballet del Marques de Cuevas Temporada de Primavera 1956 Spring Season at the Gran Teatro del Liceo Opera House (opened 1847) in Barcelona from 12 April to 11 May featuring dramatic artwork by the prolific Spanish artist Pere Clapera (Pere Clapera i Argelaguer; 1906-1984) of an elegant ballerina dressed in white and wearing a crown dancing in front of a dark and smoky phantom ballet dancer copying her moves, the title text and information below and the theatre logo above. The Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas ballet company was founded in 1947 by Marquis George de Cuevas (Jorge Cuevas Bartholin; 1885-1961), initially as the Grand Ballet de Monte Carlo; in 1950 it moved from Monte Carlo to France and was renamed Le Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas. Good condition, creasing.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
