Original vintage World War Two poster - Your Hurricanes In Action Thank You British Guiana! - featuring four colourful captioned illustrations against a yellow background depicting pilots preparing for a raid on Nazi Germany standing to a Bomber plane; Royal Air Force RAF aircraft dodging enemy searchlights and anti-aircraft gunfire as they fly on their mission through explosions in the night sky to bomb power plants, railways and factories before returning home; and the crew climbing out of their planes to complete reports on their successful raids - thanks to contributions from the people of British Guiana. The logo and more information on their other donations are given below that include Air Raid Relief, British Red Cross and St John, Mobile Canteens, Aid to Russia, King George's Fund and other funds. Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
