Original vintage movie poster for the US musical comedy film Something for the Boys based on the 1943 Broadway musical, directed by Lewis Seiler and starring Carmen Miranda, Michael O'Shea, Vivian Blaine, Phil Silvers, Sheila Ryan and Perry Como. Colourful poster by the notable pin-up artist Alberto Vargas (1896-1982) featuring a smiling performer in the centre wearing a short dress and holding a long umbrella with smaller images of various singing and dancing scenes from the film set against a bright yellow background decorated with music notes and a swirling red border, the title in stylised red and white letters. Alberto Vargas was a Peruvian painter whose World War Two pin up illustrations for Esquire became known as Varga Girls and influenced nose art designs. Horizontal. Good condition, creases, cracks and tears in bottom margin.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
