Original vintage World War Two home front propaganda poster - Back The Boys With War Savings. Save at least a bob in the pound every pay day - issued by the National Savings Committee in London to encourage people to save and financially support the Royal Air Force, featuring a photograph showing RAF ground crew loading heavy aerial bomba into the open bomb bay doors of a large multi-engine Avro Lancaster bomber plane, an illustration of the campaign's signature cartoon mascot of a smiling figure with a One Shilling coin dated 1944 as his torso, wheeling a massive bomb on a trolley with the handwritten style slogan on the side - Your Bobs do Big Jobs - and the title text in bold white letters on the blue sky background above and in blue and black below. Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by J. Howitt & Son Ltd., Nottingham. Good condition, fold, tears, creasing, staining, paper losses on left edge.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
