Original vintage poster for the 1938 National Day Celebration Collection for Swiss Abroad / Bundesfeier 1938 Sammlung fur die Schweizer im Ausland featuring a great illustration by Pierre Gauchat (1902-1956) of a red and white cross Swiss flag flying in front of a white fluffy cloud in the blue sky above the text in white and black letters. Celebrated since 1891, the 1 August Schweizer Bundesfeiertag / Swiss National Day was made an official holiday in 1994. Printed by JC Muller Zurich. Large size. Good condition, tears in margin, creases in margin.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
