Original vintage travel poster - Visit Ribe The oldest town in Denmark - featuring a stunning illustration by the Danish artist Hakon Spliid (1893-1959) depicting a view of the historic medieval brick Taarnborg building (completed 1580), the old Bishop's Palace and well-preserved renaissance house, in the old market town with traditional architecture and shadows along the street leading to the Ribe Cathedral (Our Lady Maria Cathedral; founded 860) with its Rhenish helmet pyramidal roof in the distance, a person by a tree on the side and people visible in the distance, the bold text below. Very good condition, repaired tears, repaired pinholes, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
