Original vintage travel poster for Moscow issued by the Soviet state tourism agency Intourist featuring a great design by Sergei Sakharov (1906-1969) depicting a view of Red Square with people walking and cars crossing the bridge over the Moskva River behind the historic St Basil's Cathedral (built 1561), the Kremlin Spasskaya Tower (opened 1491) with the clock on the side and red star at the top of its spire against the lightly clouded sky, a red flag flying at the top of one of the internal buildings in the background and trees around Lenin's Mausoleum in the foreground, the bold title text below. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
