Original antique travel poster for Capri in Italy / Italia issued by the Italian tourist board ENIT / Ente Nazionale Italiano per il Turismo and Italian State Railways featuring scenic artwork by Mario Borgoni (1869-1936) depicting a balcony covered in vine leaves and flowers with a view overlooking a coastal landscape with sailing boats at sea and hillside roads leading to a town and trees in the distance, more mountains and a smoking volcano visible beyond the cliffs with the logos and title in bold stylised lettering below. The popular holiday resort island of Capri is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula in the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, minor staining, ink stamp, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
