YMCA Girls In France WWI United War Work Campaign
Original antique World War One poster - One of the Thousand YMCA Girls in France United War Work Campaign November 11th to 18th - featuring a great design by the American illustrator and portrait painter Neysa McMein (Neysa Moran McMein; 1888-1949) of a lady wearing YMCA uniform with a branded hat and cape, holding out books and a mug of steaming hot drink for the soldiers who need help, standing in front of the bold red and blue YMCA triangle logo in the background with the stylised lettering on the sides. The United War Work Campaign was set up by seven NGO charities to fundraise and support the American troops fighting in WWI; although the war ended in November 1918, many servicemen were only able to return home in 1919. The Young Men's Christian Association YMCA was founded in 1844; the YMCA Women's Auxiliary was formed at the start of WWI in 1914 to help with their fundraising efforts and provide morale and comfort as part of the YMCA's welfare effort at military bases. Horizontal. Good condition, restored paper losses in margins, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
