Sold

Original antique early car advertising poster for the Voiturette CLC miniature automobile Moteur sans soupapes / Engine without valves featuring a fantastic illustration showing a lady wearing a fashionable dress and hat climbing into a red Voiturette car, with a smiling face formed by the company letters CLC at the front, next to the driver in uniform in a picturesque old town setting with fields leading to a bright yellow sky in the distance, the stylised title text in white and black letters above and address below - 165 Avenue d'Italie Paris. The French automobile manufacturer CLC Cockborne, Lehucher et da Costa was based in Paris and assembled these classic cars from 1911 to 1913. The French automobile manufacturer and inventor Leon Bollee (1870-1913) registered the Voiturette name (a diminutive from the French word Voiture for Car or Automobile) for his new motor tricycle in 1895 and the popular term was used during the early years of the motor industry to describe small cars (including Renault's first car the Renault Voiturette / Renault Little Car 1898-1903). FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
