Wilfrid De Glehn Exhibition Pictures Sketches
Original antique advertising poster for an Exhibition of Pictures and Sketches by W.G. von Glehn & L. Monod at the Goupil Gallery 5 Regent Street Waterloo Place in London held in February 1899 featuring artwork by the English painter Wilfrid de Glehn (1870-1951) depicting a lady by a river waving to red sailing boats with hills in the distance and smoke rising from a view of houses on the waterside with the sun on the horizon below. The London branch of the French Goupil & Cie (Goupil & Co) art gallery and print shop was opened in 1857, located on Regent Street from 1893-1931. The painter and lithographer Lucien Hector Monod (1867-1957) lived in Cannes in the South of France where he would paint together with his cousin Wilfrid de Glehn. Good condition, creasing, repaired tears, staining.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
