Original antique advertising poster for a touring production of a comedy play by George Day and Allan Reed - The Mummy - originally produced at the Comedy Theatre in London in 1896. Bold illustration by the notable artist John Hassall (1868-1948) featuring a wide eyed mummified man holding a top hat and a bottle of whisky with hieroglyphics on his front and his bandages unravelling around him against a blue and red striped background, the text on the bandages in black above and in red below. Printed by David Allen and Sons, London, Belfast, Manchester, New York. Excellent condition, minor creasing, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
