London's most popular decorative event held three times a year (Winter, Spring and Autumn) at The Evolution Marquee in leafy Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ. AntikBar will be participating again by the hall entrance, Stand 137 (note: due to a new layout we will be on the right hand side as you enter the main hall, opposite our old stand and the shippers) and we look forward to seeing you.
The Fair is fun, fashionable and its worldwide reputation, established over 25 years, entices international trade and retail buyers, interior designers and private customers seeking unique and unusual furnishings and quirky accessories for decorating schemes.
"The Winter Decorative Fair in Battersea Park will be putting on the glitz as the Foyer display focuses on the fabulous Hollywood style of the inter-war years. Glittering waterfall chandeliers, mirrored furniture, curvaceous sofas upholstered in luscious velvets and ‘hostess’ chairs in gleaming satin button-back upholstery will be set against a bold Art Deco backdrop of black, white and silver. Cocktail hour and all its appurtenances - classic shakers, glasses and gleaming trays - will feature as will early airline travel, with vintage luggage and posters."
Opening hours: 12noon-8pm on Tuesday 22nd; 11am-8pm on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th; 11am-7pm on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th; 11am-6pm on Sunday 27th. Contact us in advance if you would like a free entry ticket for two; e-tickets will also be available nearer the time. A free shuttle bus will run between Sloane Square and Battersea Park. The Antiques Trade Gazette (ATG) review features AntikBar's original vintage 1930s Christiania ski poster (http://www.antikbar.co.uk/product_detail/?pId=1518): "Broad range on offer at bustling Battersea" (issue 2074, 19/1/13, pages 26/27) - "Those looking to rejuvenate their abode while avoiding the homogenous high street could head to that well-known haunt of decorators and the stylish public, the Battersea Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair... It's a relaxed and bustling event that attracts quite a few of the much-desired younger buyers, those in their 40s or younger - the buggy-filled aisles at the weekend attest to this. The laid-back atmosphere and broad range on offer from the 140-odd dealers have helped it to become a popular destination for home decorators and collectors alike, offering a mix of furniture and decorative bits and bobs of all periods collectors' items and, increasingly over the past few years, art... To liven up the otherwise bland entrance, there's always a themed foyer display at the Decorative Fair and this time it is Putting on the Glitz: Silver Screen Style of the 1920s and 30s..." http://www.antiquestradegazette.com/
Save the Dates: As a regular exhibitor, AntikBar will also be participating at the Spring and Autumn Decorative Fairs. Visit the News & Events page for more information on upcoming fairs and events.
