Investing Off The Grid

Morningstar.com article, 18 March 2012

Christine Benz asked Morningstar.com readers whether they had ventured into "off the grid" investment types--nonpublic real estate, private equity investments, or collectibles, for example.
Readers shared a panoply of responses--citing everything from income-producing real estate to vintage posters--with a few noting that such investments form a sizable share of their portfolios.

I feel both might appreciate well over the years."
