The notable German graphic artist Ludwig Hohlwein initially trained and worked as an architect. In 1906 he shifted his focus to graphic design and went on to become a prolific poster designer. Hohlwein’s distinctive style is instantly recognisable through his creative use of colour, composition and typography.
We have recently added an impressive collection of posters by Ludwig Hohlwein to our website. These posters were created during the 1900s, through the 1910s and World War One to the early 1920s (click on the images for more information):
